Photo Divines mission is to help promote positive body image along through photography.
Mentor
I was fortunate enough to have two mentors during my LINK, I had both co-owners Kyla and Wesley. They are the two the run the business and own the business. I hope to gain from them their tips andnadvie to making me a better photography and allowing me to see what it woild be like if I choose to go into the photography career.
Goals
My academic goals for LINK is to be able to gain information about what I need inorder to make sure I become a successful photographer. Personally I hope to gain an understanding if this is what I hope to do for a career and for my future. This expirence will help me answer these questions I have by being able to see what it is like to be a photographer of a business that has a very powerful and impactful mission.

Project
For my LINK project I will be empowering my peers, to love themselves for who they are and see the effects of positive and negative words. This will help show my peers and my community about how women should think of themselves and look at themselves. This will also encourage women to look at themselves differently and see that you should always choose positive words to describe yourself. From completing this project I will not only learn how to take great photos but I will also be able to apply all the knowledge I have learned into this photo shoot.
To help further my knowledge for the next time I were to do the project I would have liked to do more research into teen body image. Along with finding out facts about body image, specifically within teens.
In order to get my project completed I first needed to talk to the Animas School Board to get permission to take action with this project. The required me to write up a project proposal that I submitted during a board meeting. Then I sent out an email to all the students looking for young women interested in participating in my project. Then I held a lunch meeting during school one day where I went over more information on my project and what was need of them to participate. Finally I sent out a spreadsheet where students signed up for a time to be photographed.
The hardest part of completing this project was getting the boards approval along with getting all the women onboard and showing up to there scheduled time. Getting the boards approval was a long lengthy process but it was a good process to take so I know how to submit something to the board if I ever need to again. I handled it with ease and understanding, making sure to follow up but not be too pushy.
I'm really happy with the results of my project and my LINK internship, not only have I gained a lot of knowledge but I also feel like. I am walking away with a better understanding and acceptance of myself. When first thinking about going on a three week internship I was very nervous and didn't know exactly what to except. Now looking back on it I am so glad I have done it along with all the information I have gained I am solo thankful for this opportunity.
